When she isn’t starring as Tori Vega on the hit Nickelodeon show Victorious, actress Victoria Justice is rocking out on stage as a real-life pop star. She does it all – she sings, she dances and she even writes her own songs. In fact, there’s not much that the bubbly, 19-year-old from Hollywood, Fla. can’t conquer.
This summer, she’s bringing her concert tour to Central New York. But before she hits the stage at the New York State Fair, she chatted with CNY Woman magazine about her upcoming show and a whole lot more.
Known for hit songs like “Baby Girl,” “It Happens,” “Already Gone” and “Stuck Like Glue,” Sugarland was named Vocal Duo of the Year. In an exclusive interview with Today’s CNY Woman, Jennifer Nettles shares experiences as a member of one of country music’s leading duos and talks about her upcoming concert at the NYS Fair.
Michael Aaron Gallagher: When you step on stage, what goes through your mind?
Jennifer Nettles: Being on stage is a very present, in-the-moment experience. It is quite zen actually. It is a focused, instinctive consciousness. Like an athlete in a game … more action than thought.
